An article about an inspirational article
Every day I receive a reading list from Medium and I've gotten into the habit of actually scrolling through it. And this is how I became aware of a worthwhile article by Michael Lim, who writes about how a side business is possible with just one hour a day.
Back to these medium emails - of course I decide based on the title whether I should read the article at all, but the reading time also comes into play. Articles that are too long put me off because I usually use small time windows to read them. And so the following article found its way onto my list today: If you only have 1 hour a day to build a one person business.
I expected a rather boring list of tools and links, only sometimes there are real gems hidden there. That's why I occasionally give such articles a change - luckily this time too. And I was very happy to have read this one - because my first thought afterwards was: “Yes, articles like this are exactly the reason why I started writing this blog.”
To clarify and classify: I am not a supporter of 5 o'clock morning routines or 1000% efficiency optimization. However, I don't see this as the focus of Michael Lim, even if his article starts with it → so just read over it. Michael is more concerned with having discovered his passion, living it, refining it and finding ways to pursue his passion in the always busy everyday life. And I find that incredibly inspiring.
Michael accepts the constraints and tries to shape it so that he can at least devote as much time as possible to what he enjoys and what is important to him. In his case, it's writing. And with practice and persistence, he is able to do this in many possible and impossible ways places to do. Simply remarkable.
After the article I dreamt myself writing in the Metronom (a train) from Hamburg to Bremen. And that's exactly what an author wants to achieve - to inspire others and win them over. And I'm writing the final version of this article on a train in China on the way from Jinan to Beijing. A few weeks ago I would have thought it was ridiculous that I would do something like that. And it's so much better than just sleeping or looking out the window.
So I can warmly recommend the article to you, it showed me that it is more than worth developing my new passion “writing” and giving it space to develop.
