The blog weeks begin in May

The kickoff for "Blog Weeks 2025" – a sneak preview of my planned articles and a brief outline of how I came up to join the idea.

My friend and colleague Maurice Renck drew my attention to the article about the Blog Weeks on April 2nd. There, Robert talks about an idea he came up with his friends, Dirk and Benedikt. To mark their blog anniversary—they've been blogging for 20 years and more—they'd like to invite other bloggers to share their experiences.

I find it remarkable and inspiring when people consistently stick with something for a long time. For me, blogging is very new, so this has a special appeal—I've been writing for eight months (not years!) 😳. I was fine-tuning my editorial plan for the coming months when Maurice sent me the link. The list of article titles turned out to be an excellent resource.

Between now and July, I'll be contributing to these topics:

  • May 2, 2025 Why are we still blogging?! Or, in my case, why did I start blogging?
  • May 9, 2025 Bloggers and their motivation—What drives us This article aims in a similar direction to the previous article; however, I will focus on what I hope to achieve from blogging in the long term.
  • May 27, 2025 You should always have a blog with you! I'll be reporting on how blogging has changed my everyday life—because it has!
  • June 6, 2025 Blogging - More than just texts on the internet My perspective on why personal blogs enrich the internet and are a valuable building block of a democracy.
  • June 24, 2025 Blog Systems Beyond WordPress I'll focus on Kirby and educate people about why I think Kirby is a good choice as a blog platform.
  • July 8, 2025 My Most Beautiful Self-Made Picture – A Look Back I take a few pictures and post even fewer. However, pictures for my book reviews and some events find their way onto my blog. We'll see what I find there...

At the end of June, when I edit my editorial plan for the third quarter, I'll consider the articles from August to November. I'm sure I'll discover some exciting headlines from their list.

With that in mind, happy blogging ☺️
