I read different book series and a specialist book at the same time. When choosing my next book, I always wanted an overview. This page was created out of this wish. Here you will find books from both the private sector (mainly fantasy and thrillers) and professional environments.
In the second book of this series, the protagonist Tad continues to develop. The RPG mechanics remain intact, while interpersonal development plays an increasingly significant role. Several new characters are introduced, while Tad continues to search for answers to his status as a zero. The author stays true to his style and ends the novel with a major cliffhanger.
I will continue reading the series and follow Tad passionately.
The start of this series of books is "The Dungeon Slayer". With this volume, I found my entry into the LitRPG Genre. Only afterwards did I read other book criticism, and was surprised at the negative reviews. The story is certainly not original, and the character is relatively one-dimensional. I am fascinated by the genre as a role-playing game fan. This book is supposedly a bad ladder from Solo Leveling. I judge that after reading it. Until then, I can say: I had my joy!
In the second volume, everything is different. No longer a guest, but the master of the dungeon, the hero is faced with several mammoth tasks. The dungeon must be rebuilt as quickly as possible so that it can withstand adventurous warriors. At the same time, the dungeon's remaining energy is dwindling during the work—it's time to replenish it with prisoners. However, the new master has a moral code that makes finding the right victims significantly more difficult.
In the third book of the series, the game of favour continues. The intrigues at the imperial court lead to a dramatic twist that shatters old alliances and forges new ones. At a rapid pace, the question of who is good and who is evil becomes increasingly unclear because most of the protagonists act with supposedly good intentions... may Bernhard's magic continue to work.
While searching for DnD items on Amazon, I found this English-language book. It's the first in an eight-part series. The hero wakes up in a lonely cave without memory of his past or name. In classic role-playing style, he must fight through the dungeon he's trapped in. As a role-playing fan, I find it a true delight to see how the exploration, looting, and leveling are woven into an exciting story
In Bernhard Hennen's sequel, the two opposing sides get to know each other and, through adversity, become allies as they both try to win the favor of the Transparent Emperor. An unexpected alliance dramatically shifts the balance of power between all involved. Diverse characters, exciting twists, and a world with its own rules of magic – the ideal reading material for sunny afternoons.
