Weekly review cw 02

An exciting year 2025 has begun. With an inspiration from the book “Win your inner battles” by Darius Foroux, I prepare myself for the new challenges – I have defined a motto for the year.

Server Side Stories

The sixth episode is about a question that comes up with every new project: What technology do we use? We talk about our decision-making process, what questions we ask ourselves, and give suggestions for your next project.

In addition, Maurice and I recorded the next episode. The question will be what makes a good developer. We used the question to take ourselves less seriously and spice up the critical question humorously. I particularly enjoyed recording it.

Ditsch tournament

Last Sunday, we organized our first Ditsch tournament at NTSV. According to the Swiss system, which follows the principle of "everyone against everyone," a fixed number of rounds are played. The game pairings are made so that those with the same number of wins play against each other.

Everyone brought something to eat, so a delicious buffet was available. After three hours with six rounds, a winner was crowned, and everyone was happy and exhausted. Everyone liked it so much that we are ringing the bell for the second round in February.

Start of the year

The time between the years until the first day of school is our yearly vacation at konzentrik. Stopping, taking a deep breath, and gathering strength for the start has proven itself over the last few years. I made plans for the year, read many books (the book reviews will be published shortly), and relaxed while playing Path of Exile 2.

Annual motto

This means finding focus again and heading to new shores. An exciting year ahead with a new motto: “Pursuit of a happy life.” I will align my goals, activities, and what I say no to with this motto. I got the idea for this from the book “Win your inner battles” by Darius Foroux. I will discuss this more in my book review.
