Weekly review cw 43

Podcast

This week, we published the podcast 'Server Side Stories.' That's a great feeling. However, I find it very strange to hear my voice. This is the case for many people. Accordingly, recording a new episode is a leap out of their comfort zone and into adventure. What gives me security and calmness is a script as a common thread. You can decide for yourself whether this works smoothly – here is the episode overview

Quality time

It is currently the autumn holiday in Hamburg. One child is traveling alone for a week, and the other is recovering from getting up early during the internship. This deceleration is like a balm on the days and slows you down enormously. A highlight of our time together was a visit to the escape room The Toymaker | Der Spielzeugmacher. A highly recommended room with loving details and exciting puzzles.

Table tennis

An intense week lies behind me. At the start, the game was against Schnelsen. As a team, it went brilliantly – a 9:5 win. Below average for me – a bitter defeat and a very narrow victory. I'm too tense and lose all the looseness in my wrist that it needs for a good topspin.

A four-hour course with Philipp Floritz followed on Saturday and Sunday. There were over 20 participants who made the hall shake. I continued to work on my topspin.

During the week, I tried to put what I had learned on the record. We played against Osdorfer Born and won 9:1. I won the singles 3:1. That day, I saw my first success. So it's time to keep training.

Speaking of training, I have practiced targeted exercises. This impressed a player on the opposing team so much that we started talking. In his club, we only play games and don't do any exercises. At NTSV, we can welcome a new member. A friendly exchange between like-minded people is something very nice.

Blog

The blog has been expanded to include the “Podcast” section (as you can see in the header). To do this, I read the RSS feed from konzentrik and render the tiles. An easy thing in Kirby.

I started the '20 Books Challenge'. The idea is to post cover photos of books that have influenced you, impressed you, or are particularly memorable. This allows me to look through my bookshelf and reminisce.

The challenge forced me to rework my publishing workflow so that images appear in LinkedIn and Mastodon the way I wanted. In addition, I have expanded my notes detail view to include Prev/Next navigation - which is more of a gimmick than used.

Cross poster

I've made great strides in the side hustle of Crossposter. The N8N workflows stand for “Register User”, “Activate Workflow” and “Remove Workflow”. The UI has been supplemented with a display of the workflow status. The functions are now finished. Nothing is standing in the way of going live next week.
